Following the implementation of the new National Occupational Classification (NOC) 2021, truck drivers now have access to Fast Entry. Sean Fraser, the minister of immigration, first announced the upgrade in August. On November 16, the new NOC system went live, creating 16 new positions for the Federal Skilled Worker Program. Transport truck drivers fall under this group and use NOC code 73300. How truck drivers will be selected through Fast Entry is still a mystery. This year, Canada may start holding draws specifically for people in particular professions and industries, and truck drivers may be among those targeted.
